'an outsider's perspective of the absurd world of an artist'
written by t.m.c.
"Illumitati’s art spans many mediums mixing both digital and traditional styles, notably would be her unique way of editing her photography, taking you through a surreal trip of her mind. Mental health, philosophy, absurdity and nostalgia are just some of the driving forces behind her work. Her style of taking a view of the seemingly objective world in front of us and changing into distorted and colorful yet hazy dream which provokes the questioning of that objectivity. Described as “Post-post- surrealism” and “Salvador Dali with a computer” by local artists, her works will always have you looking at the world in a new way. No matter what medium, you can always expect to feel an eerie yet familiar sense of a nostalgic longing for a bygone era you aren’t even sure existed."
'An ill perspective'
"Art is a reflection of the true expression of the soul."
an artist bio/statement by illumitati
My name is tati. I am a 26 year old multi-medium artist proudly hailing from Oklahoma. i am a very passionate and dedicated lifelong artist who is proficient in both traditional and digital mediums.

my artist name is illumitati, often shortened to 'ill tati', but ironically and unfortunately befittingly, as i am a chronically ill cancer survivor. as an escape from the anguish of these ills, i found solace in art and have an undying flame for creating. my lifelong insatiable art lust has allowed me to explore and experiment many mediums. you name it, I've probably experimented with it once. as the old phrase goes, “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”

I've got no "formal" training, from college or otherwise, but plenty of experience in its absence, which in my opinion is worth more than schooling, as I've had the freedom to create as i wish, not what I'm assigned. I've been able to explore my creativity, which has opened the doors to a wide variety of mediums and experimental projects. I live and breathe creativity. i am self taught in most of the mediums i use. I'm not "formally" trained, but if i find a media/medium that interests me, i will learn it overnight.
because I've had the freedom to create as i wish, not what I'm assigned. I've been able to explore my creativity, which has opened the doors to a wide variety of mediums and experimental projects.
I am a truly free artist, creating for myself. my creativity is limitless and i march to my own beat.

but what do you do?
great question!
the answer is a lot! over the years ive experimented with many mediums, including but not limited to; photography, illustration/animation, video art, music, collaging, and a bunch more. i've got a pretty overwhelming archive that i will upload glimpses of here. click below to go to my virtual gallery
